burnt?

I think I’m getting burnt out?

It was a miserable weekend. Many, many hours spent on that ludicrous class—bibliographies, annotations, prospectus, etc. Far fewer hours spent sleeping. I went to bed Sunday night with an incredibly sore back from working at the computer all weekend. Got up at 4:00 the next morning (Monday) in order to keep working on it. Dragged myself around all day. Tired.

Josh asked me yesterday at breakfast how I was doing. I think I’ve seen too many episodes of “30 Rock” lately. Whenever Tina Fey is flustered or overwhelmed or frustrated, she says, “Blurg.” When Josh asked me how I was doing, I said, “Blurg.”

(you missed those, didn’t you?)

Yesterday when I was working I heard a little boy yell, “Hey, bring your snakes over here to this sand!” I looked out the window. Sure enough, the boy was holding a squirming snake in his hands. He kept yelling: “Bring your snakes over here!” No one came running. After a few minutes he finally said, “Fine! My snake will be happy, and you’ll just have sad snakes!”

These pictures are from when we ran away last week. I was supposed to be in class one day last week, but instead I asked Josh if we could run away and he finally said yes! We didn’t get very far, and we didn’t run either; we drove. We made it down into Nebraska though, to the Missouri River and beyond. I was able to feel relaxed and carefree, liberated from the pressures of the everyday. That night, I had the best sleep I’ve had in months. What does that say?? Blurg.

Blurg.

hey, I just realized that you guys are married! Took a while to sink in. Your hair is so short!

Take heart, the end must be near.

At least you don't have to move twice in the next three months, like I do. Yeah, that's right, I'm not happy.

I LOVE your short hair! Of course i am a little biased on the matter :).
I'm so glad you escaped for a day - good for you! Do it more often. It sure sounds like you need it.

I think it's that I saw you in your "natural married environment" (Nebraska? this is making less and less sense to me) with your short hair. And realized that you're married. I don't know. It looks good, though.

Sarah, it reminds me of the times, always in spring, when we would "run away" and enjoy some carefree hours. It was usually by a river then too. Maybe that's my problem - it has been ages since I ran away.
Yes, the haircut is great. Stop listening to Gwen. :)
Hang in there my friend!

Sarah, you can do it. I'm sure you'll finish it in style like you always do.
